How to steep Liu An Melon Seed Green Tea?
Glassware or porcelain gaiwans are ideal as this green tea doesn’t require high temperatures (80°C / 175°F) for preparation. In addition, you’ll enjoy the view of how the leaves unfurl. Apply about 6-8 grams of tea to enjoy up to 12 brews. It’s appropriate to start with a steeping time of about 20 seconds, which you can slowly increase after the 3rd brew. To bring out the best flavor of the tea, the water for brewing Liu An Gua Pan should be 80°C / 176°F. Apply 3 g Liu An Melon Seed tea leaves into the teapot (or large mug), add hot water, and brew for about 4 minutes. Liu An Melon Seed can generally be brewed for up to 3 times in large mugs or teapots.

Liu An Melon Seed is a unique type of Chinese green tea produced in Liu An County in Anhui Province in the middle part of China. One of the oldest teas in China, it has been highly praised by tea connoisseurs from Tang Dynasty and was chosen as a special gift for Henry Kissinger during his first secret visit to China in 1971.
