Xin Yang Mao Jian Tea Region
Xin Yang Mao Jian is a type of green tea native to Henan Province in central China. The tea gardens are scattered across the mountainous regions with an average altitude of 500 to 800 meters. Every winter, when the mountains are covered by snow, while most other plants have withered, Xin Yang Mao Jian tea trees still firmly withstand the harsh weather, gaining it the reputation of one of China’s toughest teas.
What are the health benefits of Xin Yang Mao Jian?
Benefits for regular consumption of Xin Yang Mao Jian and other loose green teas include a reduced risk for heart disease. The antioxidants in green teas can help block the oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol, increase HDL (good) cholesterol and improve artery function. A Chinese study published recently in the Archives of Internal Medicine showed a 46-65% reduction in hypertension risk in regular consumers of green tea, compared to non-consumers of tea.
